University of Texas Men’s Rugby Names Connally McKay Head Coach

The University of Texas Men’s Rugby named Connally McKay as Head Coach. The 38-year-old is 6’1″ and 220 lbs.

Connally is from Victoria, Texas and moved to Austin in 2006. He attended Victoria High School, where he played football and golf. He then attended Baylor University in 2000 and was introduced to rugby and has played it since then. His first season at Baylor, the team win the National Division II Championship. In 2005 he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in History.

Connally then joined the Austin Blacks and helped the team reach the USA Rugby National Championship Final in 2002, 2004, 2007, 2015, and in 2016. The team won the 2018 Division 3 National Championship over Long Island Rugby Club. Connally also played with the Texas Rugby All-Stars.

Connolly is employed as a real estate broker for Asterra Properties. he will combine that position with being the new Men’s Rugby Head Coach at the University of Texas.
