Austin Elite Rugby Signs Uruguay Fullback Rodrigo Silva

Austin Elite Rugby Signs Uruguay Fullback Rodrigo Silva for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. He is 26-years-old, 6’0″, and 190 lbs.

Rodrigo is from Montevideo, Uruguay and played club rugby for Carrasco Polo Club at the Campeonato Uruguayo de Rugby.

He made his debut for the Uruguay National Team on November 11, 2012, against Portugal and he last played on November 24, 2018, against Romania. He has played in 52 matches, starting 47 of them, including playing in all four 2015 Rugby World Cup ones. Six of the matches were against the USA Selects, Argentina XV (3 times), and against Emerging Italy (twice). The national team total will change as the 2019 Americas Rugby Championship will begin in February,

Rodrigo has also played scrumhalf in addition to playing fullback. That provides some cover for Austin Elite Rugby Club in 2019 should a team need occur. His leadership and international experience will be an asset to the team.
