Northeast Academy Release.
We are excited to announce Craig Wilson as the Academy’s Performance Analyst. Craig has a wealth of rugby experience both as a player (having played internationally for Hong Kong) and as a coach. This includes diverse experiences such as two Junior World Trophies, three Asian Championships, the Indian National Team (xv and sevens) and many community programs, including the development of deaf and special needs rugby in Hong Kong. He currently holds an L400 coaching certification.
Northeast Executive Director Ryszard Chadwick had this to say about the new addition,
“We are privileged to have someone like Craig come on board with the NEA. We have worked together a number of times & his passion for growing the game are unrivaled. By specifically focusing on the Performance Analyst role, he will add a great deal of value for the performance & education of our players.”
Craig’s current role is with Yale University, where he is the Women’s Head Coach and Men’s Defense Coach. He has also worked with USA Rugby’s High-School, Junior and Collegiate All-Americans in both a coaching and performance analyst role, and most recently, with the Women’s National Team as an analyst.
The Northeast Academy is a premier high-performance rugby program and a National Development Academy, sanctioned by USA Rugby as the official designated pathway to the USA Eagles National Team selection for both Men and Women in the Northeast of America. With training locations in New York City, Boston, and Buffalo, the Academy trains selected players from clubs throughout the Northeast Region who are invested in their growth and eager to compete for the opportunity to be selected to our an elite 7s touring side, in both domestic and international competition. Supported by our Local Area Unions, NERFU and EMPIRE, the goal of the Academy is development, in hopes to grow and retain the rugby talent locally, by creating opportunities for players, coaches and referees alike in the Northeast.
