USA Rugby and the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) have entered a strategic partnership to support the governance and growth of collegiate rugby within the United States. The two organizations come together to streamline resources and allow the college game to be run with greater efficiency.
With the restructuring of USA Rugby, it has become a focus for the union to work together beside other governing bodies of the sport, to ensure sustained growth in the collegiate game. For over a decade, NSCRO has worked tirelessly in the development of their competitions and championships and their continued efforts to support small college rugby has allowed a broader opportunity for the game to be accessible. They have effectively worked with both athletes and institutions. NSCRO has celebrated individual athlete success through the likes of women’s 7s select-side and individual recognition awards along with their men’s 15s and women’s 7s all-star championships; while also working with the institutions at large to help increase the presence of rugby on their campuses. With small colleges being an important part of USA Rugby’s largest member demographic, the union is excited to work with administrators and volunteers of NSCRO on this targeted development.

Since 2007, the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) has been at the forefront of fostering and developing small college rugby programs in the United States. NSCRO is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing services to small college programs that raise the profile, image, and benefits of collegiate rugby in the eyes of school administrators.
Comprised of nearly 400 men’s and women’s college rugby clubs who participate in more than 30 leagues, NSCRO provides an opportunity for these programs to showcase their abilities to a broader audience with a chance at a national title and ranking. Along with recognizing club and player success on and off the field, the increased visibility NSCRO creates has led to improved school support, greater on-campus interest in rugby, and growth in financial support and alumni involvement.
