Glendale Raptors signed Devin Vaughter at loose forward for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. He is 29-years-old, 6’2″, and 225 lbs.
He was born in North Carolina, but moved to Nashville, Tennessee. He attended Father Ryan High School, a Roman Catholic coeducational high school in Nashville.
His father Eric, was a professional soccer goal keeper in the 1980s. Devin continued with the athletic tradition and playing his first rugby men’s club match at age 16.
Devin attended Middle Tennessee State University and played rugby while there. He is a long-time member of Vail RFC since 2012. He is nicknamed the ‘Red Dragon’ and has been an important player for Vail in the Rocky Mountain Rugby Summer League, at the Cowpie Classic and at the Aspen Ruggerfest with the team.
In 2012 and in 2013 Vail won the Rocky Mountain Championship and made it to the Finals against Steamboat in 2014. In 2015 Vail won the Cowpie Classic.
Devin is also a long-time member of the Glendale Raptors. He has played in the Pacific Rugby Championship, with the Merlins and Raptors in 2017 and 2018. He is a fierce competitor and has signed with the Raptors again for his second MLR season.
