Glendale Raptors signed Maxwell Lum for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old prop is 6’0″ and 245 lbs.
He is from Advance, North Carolina and attended Forsyth Country Day School, a coeducational private day school located in Lewisville, North Carolina. He played rugby, linebacker in football and threw the discus and shot put on the track and field team.

During Spring 2014, he moved to Christchurch, New Zealand and played with Southbridge Rugby Club. One of his special rugby moments was starting for the team alongside All Blacks Dan Carter in the team’s win over North Canterbury. He also played on Ellesmere Under-21s Colts representative team and was a Southbridge RFC Player of the Year Nominee.
He played for Canterbury Country Seniors in 2014 and from 2016 to 2017 as a starter. He also was part of the Canterbury B squad in 2016. He returned to Wheeling Jesuit for the Fall 2015 season and played for Ellesmere Seniors from 2015 to 2017. In 2017 he was named Canterbury Country Player of the Year.
In 2018 he moved to Colorado and played with the Raptors during the Fall exhibition season and will continue with the team in 2019
