San Diego Legion Signs Nick Lupian

San Diego Legion signed Nick Lupian for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. Nick is 23-years-old, 5’11”, 195 lbs, and plays either center or wing.

He is from La Mesa, California and attended Helix High School where he played football, wrestled, and was on the track and field team, specializing in the pole vault.

Following his high school graduation, he attended San Diego State University and started playing rugby with the Aztecs his freshman year. His speed and ability to score tries helped his selection to the USA Collegiate Rugby Under-23s tour to Queensland, Australia in 2016.

After College Nick played rugby with Grammar Rec RFC in Auckland, New Zealand. He also has played with OMBAC 7s and with the 2018 Vail Bulldogs Sevens team that won the National Sevens Championship in 2018.

Nick has signed a professional contract with the San Diego Legion for 2019 and he should contribute right away in the team’s attack.
