San Diego Legion signed Jay Harmon for a second Major League Rugby season. The 35-year-old lock, Albert ‘Jay’ Harmon, was born in American Samoa. He is 6’5″ and 250 lbs.
Jay spent seven years in the U.S. Army and played rugby for Alataua in American Samoa and attended Leone High School there. He also played rugby for Ft. Bragg, the Tacoma Nomads, and Ft. Lewis Rugby Club prior to joining OMBAC in 2012.
Jay was a standout player for Old Mission Beach Athletic Club since he joined and helped lead the team to the California Cup Championship in 2017. Prior to joining the Legion, he played with OMBAC in the Pacific Rugby Premiership.
Jay also attended an MLR combine in Houston in August 2017, but the Legion is glad that he signed with the team and will continue to be a force in 2019. Jay is a player who can dominate the lineout.
