San Diego Legion signed halfback Tai Enosa for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. Tai is 29-years-old, 5’9″, and 190 lbs.
Tai was born in American Samoa and moved to California with his family when he was young and attended San Leandro High School
Tai was an outstanding rugby 15s and 7s player, who played for the USA Rugby National Team in both.
Tai was selected to the USA Rugby Under-20s and helped the team gain a second place at the IRB Junior World Trophy in Kenya in 2009. In 2009 he was also selected for the USA Rugby Men’s Sevens Team where he played until 2013. He also played in the 2011 Pan-Am Games and in 2012 for the Falcons at the Serevi Rugbytown 7s. Tai also played in 2011 for the USA Rugby Men’s Eagles XVs and in the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
He played Club rugby with Tempe Rugby Club in 2009 and with Belmont Shore RFC from 2010-2012, appearing in three USA Rugby Club 7s Nationals, with the team winning the title in 2011 and in 2012. He also played with Belmont Shore in winning the USA Rugby Division 1 Championship in 2012.
He joined Oceanside Chiefs in 2013 and won the USA Rugby Club Division 3 National Championship in a 100 minute 44-40 thriller over Old Blue. He was named DIII MVP.
Since 2014, he has played with San Francisco Golden Gate Rugby Club and has played in the Pacific Rugby Premiership and has also played sevens. The team won the 2014 PRP Championship and Tai was named MVP for the Finals.
