The Toronto Arrows signed Uruguay wing Leandro Leivas for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. He is 30-years-old, 5’11”, and 215 lbs.
Leandro is from Montevideo, Uruguay and began playing rugby at age 6 for Stella Morris College. He plays club rugby for the Old Christians and of interest, he is a blacksmith and farrier.
Leandro attended the Universidad de la Empresa for Agricultural Studies and the Universidad de la Republica for Veterinary Sciences.

Leandro played for the Uruguay Under-20s in the World Rugby Trophy competition in 2008. His national team appearance since then have been extensive. Leandro recently played in 2018 for Uruguay A in the Americas Pacific Challenge and has represented them previously.
He has played in Consur and Americas Rugby Championship competitions. His debut for the Senior national team was against the U.S. on November 8, 2008. His last appearance was on November 24, 2018, against Romania in Bucharest. He has played 71 matches for the National team, starting 59 of them and scoring 24 tries.
Leandro played in the 2015 Rugby World Cup and is on the extended squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup. The team is the Americas 2 representative.
