Toronto Arrows Signs Guiseppe du Toit

The Toronto Arrows signed Canada center Guiseppe du Toit for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. Guiseppe is 23-years-old, 6’0″ and 220 lbs.

Guiseppe is from Maple Ridge, British Columbia and attended Shawnigan Lake High School. He played mini rugby with Ridge Meadows Bruin and then stopped for a while to concentrate on soccer before returning to rugby.

He progressed through BC age-grade rugby beginning with the Under-15s. He also represented the Canada Under-20s beating the U.S. 24-23 in the World Rugby Trophy Qualifier with the winning kick. This propelled the team into the Trophy competition.

Guiseppe attended the University of Victoria from 2013-2018 and played rugby for the Vikes. He was selected as the Muscle Milk Vikes Athlete of the Week ending November 17, 2018.

He played representative rugby for the BC Bears in the 2017 and 2018 Canadian Rugby Championship.

His first senior men’s selection came in 2013 vs USA A in the Americas Rugby Championship in October in Victoria. He also played  for Canada A against Ulster in 2016 and in the Americas Pacific Challenge in both 2017 and 2018. He concluded his 2018 season with the Selects against Castres.

Guiseppe has 13 caps for the National Team, starting five matches and scoring one try. His debut for the team was against Chile in Langford on February 11, 2017 in the 2017 Americas Rugby Championship. He also played in the ARC in 2018 and helped the team win the World Rugby Repechage.

Guiseppe returns to the Toronto Arrows for the 2019 MLR season and will feature prominently in the team’s attack. He played for the team against the Glendale Raptors in the team’s first match in 2017.
