Houston SaberCats & Victor Comptat

The Houston SaberCats signed Victor Comptat for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. He is 22-years-old, 6’8″, and 245 pounds.

Victor was born in Los Angles and was a USA age-grade player as a High School All-American and played in the World Rugby Under-20s Trophy competition for the Junior All-Americans in 2016.

From 2012-2015 he played rugby with RCT Toulon Academy (Top 14). He then moved to CA Brive Rugby (Top 14) from 2015-2017. During the 2017-2018 Pro D2 season, he played with Rugby Club MASSY Essonne.

For the 2018 Major League Rugby season he was a welcome addition for Austin Elite Rugby. Then it was back to France to play for ASBC Rugby – Bédarrides – Chateauneuf du Pape in the Federal 1 league. He now joins the Houston SaberCats for the 2019 Major League Rugby season.

In France, Victor also studied at Lycée Professional du Golf-Hotel.

The SaberCats will benefit from having a young lock with his experience on the team. Playing in this professional environment will also benefit Victor in developing his potential and perhaps continuing with the USA Senior National team in the future.

In his free time, Victor also enjoys spending time with family and with friends, watching moves and playing video games.
