Houston SaberCats & Luke Beauchamp

The Houston SaberCats signed Luke Beauchamp for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. Luke is 26-years-old, 6’2″, and 232 pounds.

Luke is from Brisbane, Australia and plays back row. He played for Queensland School Boys in 2009 and for Marist Brothers Ashgrove as captain. The school is known for producing a number of national team players for Australia. In 2011 he represented Australia on the Under-19s side and has played with the Brothers Premier Rugby team since 2012.

In 2012 he played in a trial match with the Melbourne Rebels Super Rugby side against the Blues and then spent time with the Melbourne Rising 2nd XV.

In 2014 he represented Queensland Country, earning one cap, and played briefly in the NRC with the Queensland Reds 2nd XV. He spent most of his time in the NRC with Brisbane City beginning in 2014 through 2016.

During 2017, he had to take the year off from rugby due to a knee injury and the time needed for rehabilitation. In 2018 he came back strong with the Brothers Premier Rugby team, captaining the team. He has made over 100 appearances with the team.

Look for Luke to make an impact during the 2019 Major League Rugby season with Houston.
