Canada Names Dubai and Cape Town Sevens Squad

Canada men’s Sevens Dubai & Cape Town Squad

Head Coach Damian McGrath has named the Canada Men’s Sevens squad for the HSBC World Sevens Series first two stops, the Dubai and Cape Town Sevens.

Nathan Hirayama, who led all points scorers in 2017-18 with 334 points throughout the 10 stops, will captain the squad. Justin Douglas, who finished 6th in tries scored with 35 returns. Vancouver’s Adam Zaruba returns from a two-year NFL contract with the Philadelphia Eagles and will be a welcome addition.

Canada finished last season in 9th place and will be looking to qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo. In Dubai, they will face England, Australia, and Japan in pool D.

England finished in second place at the 2018Rugby World Cup Sevens, and Australia finished fourth in the world.
