Houston SaberCats & Max Tacket
The Houston SaberCats have signed Burnaby Lake RFC center Max Tacket for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. He is 6’0″ and 205 pounds and is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, where he attended from 2012-2015.
In 2014, Tacket played with the USA Rugby Hawks Sevens at the Serevi Rugbytown Sevens, coached by former USA Rugby Men’s Sevens coach Al Caravelli. He also played sevens while at Cal Poly helping the team to third place finishes in the West Coast Sevens and the Battle of the Bay. In 2012 he was selected to the second team All California Conference D1A team. The team also was a regular in the D1A rugby 15s playoffs while he was there.
After graduating from Cal Poly, he moved to Sydney, Australia and played with Randwick RFC in the Shute Shield in the 2015-2016 season. He then moved to Auckland, New Zealand and played with the College Rifles Rugby club before playing with Burnaby Lake RFC in the CDI PremireLeague in 2018.
