New Orleans Gold Rugby & Scott Gale
New Orleans Gold Rugby Club signed Australian scrumhalf Scott Gale through the 2020 Major League Rugby season. Gale is 24 years old, 6’1″ tall, and weighs 190 pounds.
Gale is from Albury, Australia and went to St. Joseph’s Nudgee College in Boondall from 2007-2011. He played rugby for Brisbane City and in 2013 signed professionally with the Super Rugby Queensland Reds. During his time with the club through the 2016 season, he made five appearances.
From 2014 through 2015, he also played with the Queensland Country in the National Rugby Championship. Injuries plagued him in 2016 with the Reds, and this led to him signing with the Kamaishi Seawaves, a Japanese Top League team, for the 2017 season.
In 2016, Gale also played with the University of Queensland and with the Sydney Rams. In 2018 he played in the Hong Kong 10s with King’s College and then returned to play with the University of Queensland where he was pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce.
While at UQ in 2018, he was employed by the Indigenous Development Office and was an Assistant Rugby Coach at St. Joseph’s Nudgee College.
Scott now turns his attention to helping NOLA Gold Rugby Club for the next two years. He has five years of professional rugby experience and will only turn 25 on October 24th.
