University of Denver Rugby & Ken Stone
Denver University Rugby has announced that Ken Stone will become the new head coach for the 2018-19 season after spending the 2017-18 season with the Pioneers as the performance manager.
Prior to moving to the United States, Stone was the head of rugby at the University of Gloucester in England. While in Denver, he coached Queen City Rugby Club and also began working with the University of Denver this past year.
Stu Halsall, Associate Vice Chancellor of Athletics and Recreation, shared that “We are fortunate to have such a quality individual in Ken who wants to be engaged with the University of Denver. He made a tremendous impression this past year with the team and we just felt it was the right time to make a transition in the head coach role. He will excel in this role and we are fortunate to have found the right person to continue the proud history and legacy of DU Rugby.”
“With the growth of the club, both Allan Wilson and Stuart Halsall will work in various capacities to continue to support the growth of the club. The day-to-day responsibilities though will be in the more than capable hands of Ken Stone.”
