Rugby United New York Western NY Development Camp
Rugby United New York will conduct a development camp at Kunz Stadium at the University of Buffalo on August 3-5, 2018. The camp is for men and women who are at least 17 years of age by July 1. High School, Collegiate, and post-collegiate players, coaches, and referees will receive on-field training and classroom work.
RUNY Mission
Rugby United New York’s mission “is to provide personal, professional and athletic growth opportunities to everyone in the Greater New York area.”
RUNY is looking for Major League Rugby prospects and the camp also seeks Women’s Premier League prospects.
Coaches
The Western NY Development Camp will include coaches Mike Tolkin, Alex Corbisiero, and Tiffany Faaee, as well as players. Mike Tolkin is the RUNY Head Coach and was the USA Eagles Head Coach from 2012-2015. Alex Corbisiero has 31 England caps and 2 British & Irish Lions caps. Tiffany Faaee was the 2017 USA Women’s Rugby World Cup Captain and is the Assistant Coach of the New York Rugby Club WRL.
Costs
The costs of the camp for early registration by June 25 is $300. Registration after that date is $350. There is also a team discount for a combination of four or more players, coaches, or referees at $250.
Registration, Medical, Lodging & Food
Camp participants will stay in local hotels. Lunch will be provided on Saturday and Sunday at the Pearl Street Bar & Grill and dinner provided on Saturday. Camp participants will also need to provide evidence of having health insurance to participate.
