Hughes & Niua Return for 2018 London 7s

USA Men’s Eagles 7s

The ninth stop of the 2017-18 HSBC World Sevens Series Series is in London on June 2-3. The Eagles 7s are in 5th place in the standings. They won their first and only championship in 2015, took the Bronze in 2016 and were 4th in 2017. Watch the tournament LIVE on ESPN+.

Captain Madison Hughes rejoins the team after sustaining an injury at the Sydney Sevens. Folau Niua, who missed the Singapore Sevens, also returns. Niua has been a playmaker for the team and has 136 total points on the season.

Perry Baker and Maka Unufe and being withheld for both the London and Paris stop to concentrate on being healthy for the Rugby World Cup 7s. Baker leads the Series with 37 tries, but the team has Carlin Isles, who is in second place with 35.

The USA in Pool C and will face the same opponents as from Singapore. They will kick off the 2018 London Sevens tournament against sixth-ranked Kenya at 6:42 AM ET on Sat, June 2. Both teams are tied in overall series points (93) with only a points differential separating them. The team will then face 8th ranked England, the Bronze medal winners at Singapore and conclude pool play against 12th ranked France.
