The New Orleans Gold Rugby Club utilized USA Rugby Falcons Sevens wing in their pre-season Major League Rugby match against the Capital Rugby Union Selects on January 20, 2018.

Sok is a wing but also has played fullback. He is 23 years old, 5’9″ and weighs 180 pounds.

Sok is from Holland, Michigan and graduated from West Ottawa High School in 2012. In high school, he played football, baseball, and rugby during his last two years. Upon graduation, he went to Lansing Community College from 2012-2013 and then to Davenport University from 2013-2014.

During 2015, Sok played with the Tiger Rugby Academy and played at the Elite City Sevens in Philadelphia and the Halloween Sevens later that year. He also attended USA Rugby Men’s Eagles Sevens camps in both 2015 and 2016. As a result, he was selected to the USA Rugby Falcons tour to South America in 2016.

Joey Sok proved to be an impact player as a replacement in the second half against the Capital Rugby Union Selects, scoring two tries in his first two touches of the ball during the match.
