San Diego Legion & Cam Dolan
The San Diego Legion will have an Old Blue of New York flavor with the signing of Eagle Cam Dolan. In addition to Dolan, Nate Augspurger, Ryan Matyas, and Tony Purpura have joined the team.
Dolan is 28 years old, 6’7″ tall and weighs 254 pounds. He plays both back row and lock, although he normally plays No. 8.
Dolan is from Fort Meyers, Florida and began playing rugby in high school with the Naples Bears before going to Life University. There he achieved rugby acclaim and was a 4-time Collegiate All-American. The team won the National Championship in 2013. He also played rugby sevens Life and was named to the Collegiate Rugby Championship All-Tournament team in both 2012 and 2013.
Dolan also played USA age grade rugby for the Under-20s and played in 2013 at the Pacific NationsCup. He is Eagle 443 and has played for the Eagles 34 times, starting 24.
Dolan made his Eagles debut against Fiji at Nagoya, Jun 19, 2013. His last test was on March 3, 2018, against Uruguay in Montevideo, where the team defended their Americas Rugby Championship title. Dolan was also part of the 2015 Rugby World Cup team.
He also played in a non-test match against the Maori All-Blacks in November 2013 in Chester, PA. The match was seen by Jim Mallinder, head coach of the Northampton Saints and earned him a professional English Premier League contact, from 2013-2015.
Dolan then switched teams and played PRO 12 Rugby with the Cardiff Blues from 2015-2017. He then returned to the U.S. and joined Old Blue of New York for the American Rugby Premiership Fall season.
