Women’s Eagles Sevens Dubai Sevens 2017 Squad

The Women’s Sevens will look to improve upon their 6th place finish in the final HSBC 2016-17 standings during the 2017-18 season. The team kick’s off the Emirates Airlines Dubai Women’s Sevens Tournament at 3:28 PM ET on Nov. 30 for USA’s first match against France in Pool A. Matches may be viewed through World Rugby TV.

In preparing for the Series, the USA had the opportunity to scrummage Argentina in Chula Vista, California. Assistant Coach Jarrod Faul, who coaches the San Diego Surfers, was an asset in helping to prepare the women for the new season.

The team is a mix of veterans, like Olympians Alev Kelter and Ryan Carlyle. Nya Tapper had a breakout season and is a powerful wing. Nicole Heavirland will captain the side at Dubai and will have a pair of Women’s Eagles XVs and 7s players in the front row of Jordan Gray and Sara Parsons.

Complimenting the other players are Tia Blythe, Abby Gustaitis, Kelsi Stockert, Sarah Buonopane, Kiki Morgan and Megan Foster.
