Men’s Eagles Nov. 2017 Tests: Germany & Georgia
The USA Men’s Eagles will have a traveling squad of twenty-six players for their match against Germany November 18 at Brita Arena in Wiesbaden, Germany. The Eagles are ranked 17th by World Rugby rankings, while Germany is 23rd. The Eagles will then travel to play 12th ranked Georgia in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Germany, in turn, will return to the United States in June for a test match.
New Eagles Head Coach Gary Gold, attending to Worcester Warrior’s responsibilities, will work remotely with Interim Head Coach, Dave Hewitt. Dave was a former Crusaders and All Blacks prop and was the forwards coach for the 2017 Men’s U20 World Cup champions, New Zealand.
Hewitt will be joined by Assistant Coaches Greg McWilliams (Backs & Attack), David Williams (Defense) and
Shawn Pittman (Forwards).
Hewitt discussed with USA Rugby that “I am really looking forward to working with the team for the upcoming tour to Germany and Georgia. Having the opportunity to lead the side in these Tests, as Interim Head Coach while working alongside a really positive and enthusiastic coaching and management group will be a privilege.
