Strikers Rugby Release

Strikers Rugby signed prop Jack Riley in June, 2017. He is from Rugby, Warwickshire, UK and moved to Texas where he played tighthead prop for the Katy Barbarians.

The Houston Strikers are pleased to announce the signing of front row player Jack Riley who lives and works in Houston and plays his rugby for the Katy Barbarians. Jack attended Rugby School in England where William Webb Ellis famously invented the game in 1823. Jack won a Rugby scholarship and played for the school’s First XV. Later, he played for the Rugby Lions of Rugby Town, England. Positionally, he can play across the front row.

“I’m looking forward to being a part of the Houston Strikers and am really excited to get the chance to work with Coach Fitzpatrick and his staff. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to be involved with this new and ambitious team and to help grow the game of rugby in Houston.”

Strikers’ Head Coach, Justin Fitzpatrick said, “We are pleased to have Jack join the Strikers. He is a big imposing athlete and we look forward to working with him and helping him fulfill his undoubted potential.”
