in Sydney, Australia.
The seven teams competing in the Americas Championship are Argentina (20), Brazil (19), Canada (4), Chile (24), Colombia (18), United States (2) and host nation Paraguay (unranked).
The top four teams following the round-robin will qualify for the semi-final elimination round; 1st Place vs. 4th Place and 2nd Place vs. 3rd Place. Semi-final winners will not only meet in the final, but also qualify automatically for next year’s World Championship in Sydney, Australia. Admission is free and all games will be webcast.
The playing schedule is listed below. For more information, please visit the host website at http://acparaguay2017.maximusproject.org/ and the Maximus Project II on Facebook.
At the IWRF 2018 World Championship, host Australia will be joined by eleven other teams determined through a regional qualification process. Japan qualified as the result of finishing second to Australia at the Asia-Oceania qualifier, while bronze medalist New Zealand and 4th place Korea will be invited to a world qualifier tournament.
The European Qualifier will determine the last of the three zone participants before a final world qualifier tournament is held.
