Women’s Eagles Sevens Squad for Clermont-Ferrand Sevens

Richie Walker, Head Coach of the Women’s Eagles Sevens, has named his 12 player squad for the final 2016-17 HSBC World Rugby Women’s Series stop, at HSBC Clermont-Ferrand Sevens. Three players will debut for the Eagles Sevens with all being capped Eagles XVs players. Tess Feury, Natalie Kosko and Women’s Rugby World Cup pool athlete Sara Parsons join the squad that is currently ranked sixth in the Sevens Series standings.  The U.S. will face Ireland, Japan, and Series-leader New Zealand in Pool A with the entire tournament available for viewing live in the United States for on The Rugby Channel.

The squad also has Ryan Carlyle and Ashley Perry returning to the final stop. Cheta Emba and Mata Hingano, who played in Langford after returning from injuries, also return for consecutive appearances. Jessica Javelet and Naya Tapper both have the speed to test defenses. Alev Kelter and Joanne Fa’avesi, both powerful players, complete the squad.

The Eagles open their final leg of the season against Ireland Saturday, June 24, at 6 a.m. ET. The tournament will be broadcast live on The Rugby Channel at no cost to viewers.
