Strikers Rugby Release

Strikers Rugby is pleased to announce the signing of second row player Jackson Slater a Houston native and alumni of the The Woodlands High School, where he played for Woodlands Youth Rugby Club rugby and is a graduate of Baylor University and now plays his rugby for Lone Star Rugby Club under former Wasps player and now Lone Star Coach Phil Beck who has a keen eye for identifying and developing young players.

“I would like to thank Coach Fitzpatrick for the opportunity to play for the Strikers. I’m looking forward to the promising competition that Major League Rugby is shaping up to be, and aim to grow the game of rugby in the city that I’ve grown up in.”

Strikers’ Head Coach, Justin Fitzpatrick said, “I am excited to have Jackson join the Strikers. At 6’6 & 270Ilbs he has the physical characteristics to thrive as a modern lock. Jackson is a prime example of the reservoir of natural athletic talent in the Houston area. We are looking forward to identifying yet more talent through a series of combines we will announce soon.”

“Inspiring Houston to fall in love with Rugby.”
