Houston Strikers Release: May 10, 2017

The Houston Strikers are pleased to announce Charlie Hewitt will be joining us. Charlie is a product of Aviva Premiership side Worcester Warriors in England. He has represented England at age grade levels and has played for the Warriors in the Aviva Premiership, Anglo-Welsh & European Rugby Challenge Cup competitions. Charlie played for London Scottish FC in the English Championship and in the British Irish Cup.

Charlie says: “I’m really looking forward to coming to America and joining the Strikers. I’ve been in the English rugby setup most of my life and after talking at length with coach Fitzpatrick, I felt the opportunity to move to a totally different environment and to take on an entirely new challenge is exactly what I need. I can’t wait to get myself fully immersed in Strikers’ Rugby and the City of Houston.”

Strikers Head Coach, Justin Fitzpatrick said. “I’m excited to have Charlie join the Strikers for the upcoming season. Charlie is a big, athletic, modern second row and exactly the type of power player we are looking for at the Strikers. Charlie brings a wealth of experience having been a product of some of the best academy programs in Europe and having competed in Europe’s top rugby competitions.” The Strikers will announce further signings in the coming weeks. Our goal is to build a Rugby team and sports culture that gives the sports mad city of Houston something to get truly excited about.

“Inspiring Houston to fall in love with Rugby.”
