Kevin Phillipson, Professor with St. Andrews University, Joins NSCRO Board of Directors

National Small College Rugb Organization (NSCRO) Release: April 25, 2017

Medford, NJ  25 April 2017 – Kevin Phillipson is the latest addition to the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) Board of Directors.

Phillipson, a professor of business with St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, NC teaches business, marketing, entrepreneurship and technology. He also consults with business owners doing strategic business planning specializing in small companies that have made it to “year three”, reach somewhat of a plateau, and now are looking to move up to the next level by focusing on strategic planning, differentiation and product development.

Phillipson immigrated to the US in 1992 from South Africa. He has been a rugby player since the age of six, and as a coach and administrator since 1993. He is currently president of a rugby club that has U19 boys, women’s and men’s teams, in both 7’s and 15’s.

NSCRO President, Stephen Cohen, remarked that, “Kevin’s professional and rugby background and experience will be a valuable asset to NSCRO in various ways, including the areas of business planning and development, marketing, and player advancement, coach development and rugby ethos.”

NSCRO is comprised of more than 240 men’s and 135 women’s colleges and universities who participate in more than 30 leagues for an opportunity compete on a national level and showcase their abilities to a broader and larger audience.

By focusing on small colleges and universities, we help bring these schools, their teams and players exposure outside of their conference/union while also giving them a chance at a national title and ranking.     Missed the part about him starting a rugby team at Wesley College. He made promises to build the club and youth programs and then bailed just after a year. Don’t worry he left club with plenty of notice and set up them perfectly (sarcasm case you missed it). Good luck St. Andrews, Shady dude.
