Lady Raiders Beat Lady Quins: Win Hawaii Rugby Union Championship

The Hawaii Rugby Union Women’s Rugby Championship was held on Saturday, April 8 with the Kalihi Lady Raiders Rugby Club prevailing over the Hawaii Lady Harlequins in extra time 19-14.
During the regular season the two teams split wins with the Lady Quins winning 35-5 over the Lady Raiders on March 11. The Lady Raiders won 17-10 over the Lady Quins on March 25.
In the Women’s Championship match, Kara Fertello and Shorty Matheson scored tries for the Lady Quins, while Yon Smith and Shorty Matheson added conversions. Scoring for the Lady Raiders were Monika Sake with two tries and Carol Sio with the other. Monika Sake also added two conversions.
