Tiger Rugby Announces Launch of High Performance Camp
Tiger Rugby Release: April 5, 2017
Two five-day camp sessions will be held in June at IMG Academy
COLUMBUS, OHIO (April 5, 2017) – Tiger Rugby is pleased to announce the first Tiger Rugby High Performance Camp series at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. These ground-breaking camps will take place at the world-class IMG Academy and offer coaching from Tiger Rugby’s world-class coaches alongside nationally recognized coaches from the Tiger Rugby Coaches Alliance. The two sessions will be held June 4-8 and June 9-13, 2017.
The immersive high performance environment, along with the programming provided by the coaching staff, will ensure that each participant leaves with the tools and tactics to elevate his or her game to the next level. The camp will also give participants the opportunity to be evaluated by coaches from the USA Rugby coaching staff. The camps at IMG Academy are the brainchild of Tiger Rugby Owner and Coach Paul Holmes.
“The reason for bringing rugby to IMG and putting our camps here is because of what IMG Academy stands for and the reputation they have in the high performance sports industry worldwide,” said Holmes. “We want to bring coaches and players from all different backgrounds to advance the development of every participant.”
Holmes added, “We want to make sure that our campers are given access to players and coaches who have experienced and had impact at the highest level of rugby. In doing so we know that the opportunities for everyone will keep growing and the quality on hand will be of the highest level. Accountability in everything is great and by bringing in these coaches and players, we will make sure we deliver from start to finish.”
Because of their reputation as one of the world’s best athletic development centers, IMG Academy was selected to play host to this first of its kind camp.
“We are looking forward to hosting Tiger Rugby and its campers this summer,” said IMG Academy Vice President and Director of Athletics Scott Dean. “Our mission aligns with Tiger Rugby’s goal of helping athletes of all levels reach their full potential. We believe our facility offerings will provide an outstanding environment for some of the top rugby talent to take their performance to the next level.”
The camp’s open session will be held June 4-8, and is open to U-19 and collegiate level men and women. This 5-day residency camp will focus on improving skill development, strength and conditioning and overall rugby IQ. The camp’s second session will run June 9-13 and is reserved for developmental players who have been identified at the national level as possible next generation Eagles. This camp will be used as an identification vehicle for unique development opportunities across the globe including residency camps in South Africa and invites to Tiger Rugby touring teams. Both camps will leverage some of the best coaching in the country and will provide a unique developmental experience for each of the participants.
Registration for this elite opportunity will be opening next week
