The USA Men’s Eagles will play Canada in a two matches series as part of the Rugby World Cup 2019 Qualifier. At stake is a berth in the Rugby World Cup in Tokyo as the Americas 1 representative.

The first leg of the Qualifier will be held in Canada on Saturday, June 24, and then the teams will travel to San Diego for a July 1 match at Torero Stadium.

USA CEO Dan Payne said that “Hosting the second leg of this home-and-away series, where net point differential proves to be the determining factor in which team books the first ticket to the 2019 World Cup, in beautiful San Diego on the University of San Diego campus at Torero Stadium provides all of the ingredients for a great event. The Canada vs. USA rivalry is our most storied and respected and, when you add in World Cup qualification, it only elevates the stakes.”

University of San Diego’s Torero Stadium was the home of the San Diego Breakers, and can hold more than 6,000 supporters. The stadium is located within 15 minutes of San Diego International Airport and seven miles from downtown.

Tickets for the July 1 Qualifier will be made available to those on the USA Rugby Ticket Pre-Sale Email List beginning Wednesday, March 29, at 10 a.m. PT. General on-sale tickets begin Friday, March 31 (10 a.m. PT). Tickets can be acquired via USARugby.org/Tickets, with a special rate for groups of 15 supporters or more available via the JCP Ticket Office, (619) 260-7550.
