Costa Rica Rainforest Rugby Sevens Day One

The Costa Rico Rugby Foundation is hosting the seventh annual Rainforest Rugby Sevens on February 18-19, 2017 at the Costa Rica High School, Concepción de Tres Ríos.
The Northeast Academy has both a men’s and omen’s team entered in this competition and their squads were released yesterday.
This tournament provides the opportunity for both the Costa Rican men’s and women’s national teams to compete against select sides from Canada,
Panama, the United States (Northeast Academy), and a Barbarian side. In the past, teams from Mexico, the United States, Peru, Venezuela, Colombia, and the Cayman Islands have competed and the tournament has been part of the qualification process for the Central American Games in Managua 2017 and the Caribe Veracruz 2014.
The Rainforest Rugby Sevens would not be possible without the support of several organizations. The Costa Rica Rugby Federation acknowledges the cooperation and support from Sport and Travel, the Northeast Academy, National Olympic Committee (CON-CR), Costa Rican Sports and Recreation Institute (ICODER) and the Franco Costa Rican High School.
