Austin Huns Release: Austin, TX (October 21, 2016)

The Austin Huns are thrilled to announce the hiring of Johannes (CJ) de Wet as the Technical Analysis & Skills Coach.

CJ is passionate about the video analytic aspect of sports and sports science. He is always seeking creative and innovative ways in which to make analytical data relevant to coaching and training methods to improve athlete performance and movement. CJ has a bachelor’s degree sports science, and masters of science degree in strength and conditioning with strong experience working in a variety of sports and with teams from a university to international level.

“We are fortunate to have CJ join our management team. CJ is qualified video analysis who has also coached rugby at all levels. As the Austin Huns Technical Analysis & Skills coach, he brings added value and experience to the club with a technical approach to breaking down data that aids the coaching staff in making appropriate changes to training and increase player development” said Austin Huns Head Coach Eugene Eloff.

CJ’s coaching, training, and video analytic experiences span over multiple teams, such as Springbok Rugby 7s, Western Province Rugby Institute, PSO Barbarians (RSA), Springfield College (Massachusetts, USA), and University of Stellenbosch (RSA). “Seek to train the person, not the athlete and always strive for the extra 1%,” is CJ’s philosophy.

The Austin Huns are proud to welcome Johannes (CJ) de Wet to the club.
