Notre Dame College Men’s Rugby hosted the U.S. Naval Academy on Saturday, September 10th in a match between two quality D1 rugby programs. The Notre Dame College Falcons are proving that last year’s trip to the USA Rugby National Finals was not a fluke, as their program continues to flourish under Head Coach Jason Fox.

Prior to the match, a Remembrance ceremony was held in honor of the men and women of the armed forces, as well as the Services that have also given so much, the Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services.

Notre Dame College emerged from the match with a 27-8 win over Navy. With the win, the Falcons are 3-0, after also beating Wheeling Jesuit and St. Bonaventure, who play in the tough Rugby East D1A Rugby Conference.

Jason Fox has the team firing on all cylinders. The team has applied defensive pressure on teams and has used that pressure to create attacking opportunities.

Next Saturday, September 17th, the team will travel to Middle Tennessee State and hopes to return with another win.

Navy, who opened their season against Notre Dame College, is coached by Mike Flanagan. He is an experienced coach and the team will regroup and provide a challenge on Saturday when they travel to play Dartmouth.
