Laramie Lumberjacks Beat Queen City D4 in their Inaugural Rugby Match

The Division 4 season of the Rocky Mountain Rugby Union began this past Saturday, September 10th, as new club the Laramie Lumberjacks hosted Queen City D4 in Laramie, Wyoming. The Lumberjacks came away with a 57-12 win in their inaugural match against Queen City development D4 side.

Last year the Queen City D3 side reached the playoff finals against the Denver Highlanders D3 side to see who would represent the Rocky Mountain Union at the Frontier playoffs. Division 4 rugby is considered Social side rugby and provides the rugby experience for new teams, as well as less for less experienced players to develop.

 In winning their inaugural match, the Laramie Lumberjacks had tries from Cox (2), Donaldson(2), Eggerman, Watkins, Tritle, Knowles, and Mendoza and five conversions. Queen City D4 had tries from wing Eric Miller and outside center Blake Williams, th elater was converted by fullback Mark McPhee.
Next week the Laramie Lumberjacks travel to play the Colorado Stags on September 17th at Noon MDT.
