GHSAA Take Second at Rugby Europe Women U18 Championships

The Cup Championship featured two undefeated teams in the USA Rugby Girl’s High School All-Americans powered by Atavus and France at the Rugby Europe Women’s U18 Championship in Vichy, France. The host country France won the Championship over the United States 34-24. Canada came in third place with a 26-7 victory over Spain. England won the Plate, Portugal the Bowl and Germany the Shield.

To reach the Cup Final, the USA came back to beat Canada 19-17 with no time in the Cup Semi-finals, while France beat Spain 38-10.

The Cup Quarterfinals results were USA 36-7 Wales, Canada 29-21 England, France 41-0 Italy and Spain 22-10 Ireland.

In Pool Play, the four Pool winners each went 3-0 in their Pool, while the second place teams only lost to the Pool winners. England won Pool A with 47-0, 49-0 and 38-0 wins against Romania, Ukraine and Italy, respectively. USA won Pool B with 29-5, 33-5 and 40-0 wins over Germany, Ireland and Russia. Spain won Pool C  with 45-0, 31-7 and 40-0 wins over Andorra, Sweden and Wales. France won Pool D witith 29-19, 19-0 and 46-7 wins over Netherlands, Portugal and Canada.
